"I took a last minute adventure to northern Colombia to look for birds and the beautiful mountain side and got an incredible trip. The professional and customized trip was great and without knowing a great deal about the area they taught me about the land, wildlife, and people. Fidel was a great guide who knew all the birds and how to bring them near to photograph them. Juan was also a wonderful guide and cool person to get know and his passion for futbol! It’s not often you have a pvt guide at an affordable rate but I had two top guides who handled everything for 3 Days in the mountains. I had no set plans for the following 3 days and at the end of the 3 days they said there was a costal tour we could do and I booked it with them in a second. I choose this company with just a bit of research n hit a diamond in the rough. I look forward to exploring more with them in the future and highly recommend them to those passionate about birds and to explore a new place. "We booked Fidel to pick us up from the airport, took us up to El Dorado, a morning birding the Cuchilla San Lorenzo, a ride down from El Dorado to Minca, with birdwatching along the way, and a morning birding around Minca. With him I found over 200 bird species, including most of the Sierra Nevada/ Santa Marta endemics. His offroad driving skills, necessary to navigate the road above Minca, are excellent. Fidel has a good sense of humour, is kind, and found an alternative plan for my wife who is not a birder to do while we were birdwatching, so she visited a coffee farm. If you are coming to Santa Marta to bird and you are looking for a guide, I would completely recommend Fidel for anyone looking for a local guide in the area."
